One of the most ancient temples in Novgorod is the Church of Transfiguration of our Savior on Ilyina street.  As the legend says the famous icon “ Our Lady of the Sign” was kept there. The church represents the 14th century architectural style in Novgorod.

Kostroma is one of the most beautiful city in Russia. The city is as old as Moscow. It was founded in 1152 by Yuri Dolgorukiy. Like many other cities Koztroma was burned during the Tartar invasion.
